Job Description:

The Practice Head (PH) will lead Chemicals & Materials area of practice for FutureBridge, winning and delivering client work, and offering intellectual and managerial leadership within the team and externally. The PH will work with the executive leadership team, who in return will support the PH to develop his / her expertise and capabilities as an emerging leader within the organization. The PH role offers a chance to learn, grow, develop excellent practice and build a reputation within the sector as an emerging leader and innovator.

The PH is an important and client-facing role for FutureBridge. (S)he will win, design, and deliver a range of client-facing engagements as well as conceptualize / test / design / deliver / market subscription platforms / products within the service area of his / her expertise. (S)he will ensure resources, financials, quality assurance, and relationship management are of a high standard to deliver both client and FutureBridge objectives for each piece of work. (S)he will be expected to operate independently and with freedom to develop relationships with clients; but within a framework of intellectual and managerial support provided by the executive leadership team.

The PH has a vital role to play within the FutureBridge set up, and in the development of its thinking, culture, and practice. (S)he will be expected to contribute to strategic direction, intellectual capital and the written output of the organization. (S)he will be encouraged to build expertise in his / her defined practice area, including cultivating external networks, speaking at events and conferences, and building relationships that can further develop our thinking and practice base. As a key team member, (s)he will be expected to contribute to a positive and collaborative working culture, and to grow as an ambassador for the organization and its values.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Drive practice P&L and ensure target margins from delivery of multiple global engagements
  2. Drive revenue by working closely with the sales team in new business acquisition process
  3. Ensure targeted bottom line by proactive management of cost of servicing, overheads and resource productivity
  4. Drive overall large deal strategy – including solution strategy, win themes, commercial strategy / deal structuring
  5. Support sales in driving long term strategic engagements with a clear vision to build long term partnership with the clients
  6. Ensure adequate coverage and high commitment levels to all client group engagement and pursuits
  7. Ensure client deliverables are high on depth, comprehensiveness and quality and are delivered as per the defined timelines
  8. Ensure client satisfaction and drive additional business opportunities from existing clients groups
  9. Define win themes and value proposition for increasing revenue realization from clients over time
  10. Contribute to practice development by training, mentoring, hiring best available talent
  11. Responsible for leading a high performance team, work allocation and performance management
  12. Review and help develop new Business Development artifacts
  13. Drive programs within the team on improving effectiveness & efficiencies within operations and ensure time-bound completion
  14. Ensure processes compliance to meet business objectives and operational needs
  15. Define key performance metrics and performance goals for the team and carry out periodic review to plan timely intervention
  16. Provide foresight and feedback to team based on periodic analytics and introspection
  17. Build a strong performance oriented work culture

Essential Requirements:

  1. Experience in managing P&L activities with a strong sense of driving top line and bottom line for the business
  2. Ability to provide solution approach and sales support during client proposal presentations
  3. Strategic thinker with strong analytical mindset and strong technical background
  4. Ability to work in an ambiguous, rapidly changing environment. Comfort in ambiguity, but strive to create clarity for others.
  5. Experience in executing commercial and techno-commercial engagements, technology adoption, solutions for clients
  6. Experience in leading project teams for client delivery and proposal preparation
  7. Strong communication skills with ability to articulate and facilitate technical and business discussions across all disciplines
  8. Ability to work with all levels in an effective, proactive manner
  9. Organized, detail-oriented person, with good time management skills
  10. Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
  11. Personal driven and positive work ethics to drive results
  12. Coaching and mentoring as well as ability to connect with the team members at different level is a must
  13. 15 plus years relevant experience in a consulting organization with client delivery role is a plus

Academics :

Engineering / Science education background (M.S. / PhD or / and MBA is plus) – ideally in fields relevant to the chemicals and materials industry.
